Like many others, I first came to the area as a visitor, on a series of dates as it were, and was quickly won over! Whenever my hectic corporate schedule allowed, we’d pack up the car, two excited dogs in tow, and head to the Hudson Valley. Weekend visits quickly led to week-long vacations spent hiking, swimming and exploring, and, a few years ago, we set down our roots and made Woodstock home. Now a permanent resident, I’ve left the hustle of the big city behind and haven’t looked back.
In a very short time, our home has become a gathering place for family and friends on holidays, special occasions, and weekend visits, and welcoming neighbors are now good friends. It feels great to be “a part of,” which is not so easy in a large and challenging city.
Nothing is more fulfilling than sharing my excitement for the Hudson Valley and the Catskills, especially with those who are first exploring the area. Sometimes when I go out with new clients, it’s like going out with my old eager self. There’s a sense of tranquility comes from the region and its beauty; and seeing it through the eyes of others is like reliving it again. Just as if it were my first time.
