Being raised in a picturesque farming community in Roxbury, NY, nature has always been an important part of my life. I moved to Manhattan for twenty years, got married, traveled and had two wonderful children but as I watched my daughters get older it became very clear to me that nature needed to be a constant in their lives, as it was in mine. Here’s a favorite line of mine from the American writer Edward Abbey, “Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit, and as vital to our lives as water and good bread.”
I dreamed of the lifestyle I grew up in and rediscovered it in the Hudson Valley. After visiting family and old friends in the area for many years, we decided to make the big move to living here full time, and bought a 200 year old farmhouse in New Paltz at the base of the MohonkPreserve. The friendly towns and their people, farmers’ markets, streams, ponds and beautiful country roads offered much to explore and the proximity to NYC also made this the perfect location.
I am glad to give you 20 years of experience in real estate and a real, hands-on knowledge of the area and our local real estate market. Whether the “wilderness” be a country cottage, beautifully restored farmhouse or mountaintop retreat, there is much I can offer you. I have been there and done that, and am always eager and delighted to pass it on.
